Kate McEvilly

Kate McEvilly writes strong, funny, ball-busting female characters on journeys of self-discovery, determined to find—and own—their authentic voices. She’s never set foot in Erewhon or watched Avatar, and she’s not about to start now.

She studied cultural anthropology, business, and sports marketing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore before transferring to the University of California, Irvine to study medical anthropology and law and policy. So, naturally, now she is a screenwriter.

Her rom-com Irish Goodbye was a Quarter-Finalist at the 2024 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards, and her pilots LOOTERS and Sweet, Sweet Fantasy both advanced as Second Rounders at the 2022 Austin Film Festival. Kate currently works as a creative assistant at Guilty Party Films where she continues to champion flawed, fearless women who know how to throw a punch—literally and figuratively.

These are a few of my favorite things.
